Assistant Coach, Duke University Women's Basketball
SAM MILLER JOINED THE DUKE UNIVERSITY SQUAD DURING THE 2015-2016 SEASON AND WAS ELEVATED TO ASSISTANT COACH IN 2017. PRIOR TO HIS ARRIVAL IN DURHAM, MILLER RACKED UP A WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE IN BASKETBALL OPERATIONS. HE SERVED AS A GRADUATE ASSISTANT FOR MEN’S BASKETBALL AT WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY FROM 2011-13.
WITH THE BRONCOS, HE ASSEMBLED SCOUTING REPORTS FOR GAME PREPARATION, TOOK PART IN TEAM PRACTICES AND INDIVIDUAL WORKOUTS AND PLAYED A ROLE IN IMPLEMENTING NEW VIDEO SOFTWARE. MOST RECENTLY, MILLER SERVED AS THE ASSISTANT MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH AT KALAMAZOO COLLEGE, AN NCAA DIVISION III PROGRAM, FROM MAY, 2015 THROUGH JANUARY, 2016.
Assistant Coach, University of Louisville Women's Basketball
Once listed as one of the Top 30 up-and-coming women’s basketball coaches in the country by High Post Hoops, Sam Purcell is a rising star in the coaching world. The Dalton, Ga., native has spent the past 17 years climbing the ranks from a student coach at Auburn all the way to an associate coach at Louisville, one of the top programs in the country.
During his journey, Purcell has worked under some of the greatest minds in women’s basketball, including Jeff Walz, the current Louisville head coach and USA Basketball U-20 head coach, Nell Fortner, the former Auburn head coach and current Georgia Tech head coach and 1996 Olympic head coach and Joe Ciampi, the former Auburn head coach for 25 seasons and 2005 Hall of Fame inductee.
In what is already a decorated career, Purcell has been a part of 13 teams that have participated in postseason play. His teams have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 11 times, making one appearance in the Final Four, two in the Elite Eight, four in the Sweet 16, and he was also a part of a WNIT Championship.
In 17 years, his teams have combined to post a 416-181 (.697) record, while posting 11 20-win seasons and three 30-win seasons. He has helped lead his teams to three regular season conference championships and two conference tournament championships.
The 2018-19 season is Purcell’s sixth at the University of Louisville. He served his first four seasons as an assistant coach and was promoted to associate coach by Walz prior to the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
Head Basketball Coach, UNLV
A Milwaukee native, Otzelberger played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he was a three-year starter and two-year team captain. He began his coaching career at Burlington Central Catholic High School in Burlington, Wisconsin, before accepting his first collegiate coaching position as an assistant coach at Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Florida. Chipola placed third in the NJCAA National Tournament, finishing the year with a 33-4 record.
Otzelberger served two separate stints as an assistant coach at Iowa State, covering eight seasons. He began his first tour in Ames in 2006 under head coach Greg McDermott and was later elevated to associate head coach in 2010 by then-head coach Fred Hoiberg. The 2011-12 Iowa State squad achieved a top-25 national ranking for the first time in seven years and defeated defending national champion Connecticut in the NCAA Tournament en route to 23 wins.
Following the 2012-13 season, Otzelberger moved on to the University of Washington for two years, where he served as associate head coach on Lorenzo Romar’s coaching staff. The Huskies were ranked as high as No. 11 during the 2014-15 season and Otzelberger played a key role in putting together a top-10 nationally ranked recruiting class.
After his 2nd stint at Iowa State University, Otzelberger was named head coach and lifted the program at South Dakota State to new heights during his three-year tenure (2016-2019), where he compiled an overall record of 70-33, led the Jackrabbits to three straight postseason appearances, clinched the outright regular-season Summit League title the past two seasons, and earned the conference's Coach of the Year honors.
On March 27, 2019, Coach Otzelberger was named the Head Coach of the UNLV Runnin Rebels.

JORDAN PETERSEN IS CURRENTLY SERVING AS THE HEAD BOYS BASKETBALL COACH AT ELLSWORTH HIGH SCHOOL IN ELLSWORTH, WI. HE PREVIOUSLY SERVED AS AN ASSISTANT COACH AT STILLWATER HIGH SCHOOL (MN) AND MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY-MOORHEAD. HE HAS COACHED 3 NSIC POY, 1 ALL-AMERICAN, 3 PROFESSIONALS, AND NUMEROUS ALL-CONFERENCE PLAYERS. HE’S ALSO THE FOUNDER OF POSITIONLESS BASKETBALL. AS A PLAYER, HE WAS A WIAC ALL-CONFERENCE PLAYER AT UW-EAU CLAIRE.
